Winegard routers, essential for RV and mobile connectivity, require up-to-date software (firmware) for optimal performance and feature access. Here's how to navigate the available versions:
Understanding Available Software Versions
Winegard router software is model and hardware specific. The main models are:
- 1st Generation Connect
- ConnecT 2.0/Connect 2.0 5G
- Gateway/Gateway 5G
ConnecT 2.0 and Gateway routers can have different hardware versions internally:
Identifying Your Hardware Version
- Check the Default SSID: The last 6 characters of your router's default SSID (e.g., Winegard2ghzD36917) indicate the hardware:
- Starts with "D": Atheros board
- Starts with "C": Aztech board
